Hi, I’m Sarah and I work as a PA/administration assistant/typist for GO Get Organised. I work for three or four different companies through GO Get Organised as the need arises, and enjoy the variety this gives my working week. It also gives me the flexibility that I was particularly looking for when I started working as a freelance VA after my youngest son was born.
My CV is rather eclectic. I worked as a legal secretary for 13 years (full time, then part time once I had my eldest son) with the corporate and then commercial property departments of a Bath-based firm of solicitors. I worked as secretary and PA to the heads of department as well as supporting other members of the team, and this gave me a broad range of office skills from copy and audio typing and diary management to completing Land Registry and HMRC documents.
At the same time, outside ‘traditional’ office hours, I ran a community theatre company for 10 years. Here I developed my marketing and PR skills (writing press releases, organising events at a variety of venues), as well as directing productions and even acting in a few!
I consider myself lucky that the past 15 years or so have given me a chance to do creative work as well as the more usual office-based roles.
