Jo – Virtual PA & Assistant to Naomi

After growing up in Cornwall, I made the move to London where I started a secretarial job at the BBC, a childhood dream come true! This was where I spent (on and off) 15 years, working as a senior level PA within various BBC departments, most recently within BBC Childrens, both CBBC and CBeebies. Alongside the usual PA and office management duties, I was able to try my hand at plenty of other activities including running the backstage hospitality area at a major live event, selecting and recruiting temporary staff, being the petty cash ‘gatekeeper’, co-ordinating major award entries and planning and running commissioning events.

I have also undertaken various short-term jobs, mainly transcription work (using everything from good old-fashioned cassette tapes to QuickTime files) and also a lot of ‘live’ web chats.

I joined GO Get Organised in 2013 and I really enjoy being able to work flexibly and manage my own workload, and the variety and experience I get is great. Since working with GO Get Organised, I have put my PA skills to good use, working with regular clients, and have also turned my hand to all sorts of different tasks, such as transcribing (audio and visual – any subject, any length!), creating newsletters, proofreading, research, planning foreign trips, basic cash book controlling, data entry… the list continues to be added to.
